Distance to services like education and markets are long in rural Asante Akim District in Ghana. Public transport in these areas is either not existing or irregular, inefficient and expensive. In rural villages in the Asante Akim District in Ghana, bicycles are given out to small entrepreneurs and students so that they can save on transport cost and increase their mobility to have better access to essential services.
