Half of the winning ABDC team, travelled to Kenya to locally manufacture the prototype of the bicycle trailer. The team won the African Bicycle Design Contest which was held via www.wiki-bike.com. Brazilian Juliano Papalardo (who submitted the original idea for the trailer) and 2 students of the Delft University of Technology Rianne Houba and Jan Ustohal (who transformed the idea into the winning prototype), have further improved the prototype in the Kenyan context. In December 2011, the other half of the winning team comes to Kenya to launch the final prototype. For more information about this project, click here.
