“I am Wieger Homan, 63 year old and used to work as a researcher in infectious diseases. I retired early, so from this favourably situation I realised that many people are not so well of as I am. That’s why I started to do some voluntary work. When I saw the opportunity to do voluntary work for 4 months on a bicycle project I took it with both hands. This is offering me a life-time experience to combine my hobby – cycling – and to contribute something to the developemnt of Africa through the use of bicycles. Besides that I also experiencing Africa from a whole different perspective, which I always wanted to do. I am working on different and challenging activities like developing boda boda cycling tours and I cycle around under Kisumu’s sun in Kenya”.
