Despite the bad weather, about 80 cyclists took part in the tour “to Nijmegen LangsZijwegen” (the Netherlands) on Sunday, June 19, 2011. At the start between 8 and 10 am it was dry, but later on there was some rain and a fair wind. Along the way a snack was handed out at ‘t Veerhuis in Oeffelt and at the finish each participant was met with applause. The participants were enthusiastic about the route and the organisation. Most participants have cycled 80 km, some 125. Upon registeration in the morning, many people bought a ticket for the raffle which was organised for Cycling out of Poverty. A total of € 528.54 raised for the project small entrepreneurs in Kenya (click here for the project).
