2 new groups of beneficiaries in Rwanda

Our partner organisations La Nouvelle Vie has started a bicycle-on-credit project in the villages of Ngeruka and Gakenke in 2009. A video about Ngeruka can be seen here, and about Gakenke here. By the end of 2009 31 bicycles were given out to members of a Cooperative named iMBARAGA in Ngeruka, and Cooperative named DUFASHANYE in Gakenke, that were formed for this project. Since the members that received their bicycle a year ago have finished paying the instalments, the funds revolved are now used to give out 26 bicycles to other group members, in each of the villages. 5 more people will receive a bicycle also after they have made the initial payment. The beneficiaries have also received a training on micro finance and how to save and to have access to the various credits. This project is supported by Impulsis.
